Most stock does not fail because nobody wants it. It fails because it never gets in front of enough people at the right time. That is the gap our auctions close. You hand us the stock, we put it in front of thousands of bidders, and you get paid.
Here is how consigning with Biddurs works, in plain terms.
What consignment actually means
You own the goods. We sell them for you and take a share of what they make. There is nothing to pay up front, and once the stock reaches us you do not lift a finger. We photograph every lot, write the listings, run the auction, take payment from the buyer, and handle the admin. When the sale settles, your money lands in your account and we keep our agreed commission.
You carry no risk on unsold items either. If a lot does not sell first time, we relist it in the next event rather than leave it sitting.
Who we sell for
We work with anyone who has stock that needs a buyer.
Retailers and wholesalers with customer returns, overstock, ex display units, or end of line ranges that are tying up shelf space.
Anyone handling a house clearance, a probate estate, or a downsize, from a single valuable piece to a full property of contents.
Collectors and dealers who want a clean sale without listing every item themselves.
Liquidators and finance firms who need stock turned into cash quickly.
If you are not sure whether your goods are a fit, just ask. We would rather tell you honestly than waste your time.
Why an auction beats listing it yourself
Selling online yourself sounds cheap until you count the hours. Photos, descriptions, buyer questions, chasing payment, packing, returns. Every one of those is time you are not spending on your own business.
Our events run to a clock. Bidders know a lot closes tonight, so they act tonight. That urgency is something a fixed price listing never gives you. Everything starts at one pound, which pulls people in, and competition does the rest by pushing the final price up on its own.
You reach the whole country too. Our bidders are not passing footfall. They are people across the UK watching for exactly the kind of stock you are sitting on.
What it costs
We charge a commission on the hammer price, agreed with you before anything goes live. No listing fees, no photography fees, no monthly charges. If your goods do not sell, you owe us nothing. We only earn when you earn, which keeps us honest about pricing your stock to move.
For larger or regular consignments we will talk rates. The more you send, the better we can do for you.
How to get started
Send us a short message telling us what you have. A few photos and a rough idea of quantity is plenty to begin with. We will come back with a clear view of what it should make at auction, our commission, and how soon we can get it into an event.
After that you either drop the stock to us or arrange collection, and we take care of the rest.
Stock that sits still costs you money every week. An auction gets it moving. If you have goods to sell, email us at sales@robertscotts.com and let the bidding do the work.
